About the opportunity


We have an exciting opportunity for a Family Services Team Leader to join us based at the Croydon Uniting Connections’ office. The position is full time, maximum term until June 2020 (parental leave cover), with regular opportunities for extension or transfer across Uniting.


The Family Services program:

  • Aims to support families who are experiencing high levels of stress and difficulties that impact on parenting, family life and children’s well being
  • Responds to referrals from Child FIRST
  • Provides home based supports through assertive outreach


In a typical day, a Family Services Team Leader might:

  • Support a staff member to use a creative approach to arrange a visit with a reluctant new family
  • Provide opportunity for a staff member to reflect on their assessment of a vulnerable family
  • Utilise supervision with a staff member to review plans to support a family’s goals
  • Represent the organisation at a network meeting with other stakeholders
  • Review a staff members case notes and reports 
  • Prioritise allocation of a complex case
  • Collaborate on a quality improvement project with other Team Leaders and Senior Leadership members

About you

To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a relevant tertiary qualification and extensive experience in Social Work, Psychology or a Community Services / Welfare related field.
