Out of Home Care provides:

  • Safe and stable homes for children who cannot live with their families and/or need community support
  • Small-scale shared housing for up to four young people
  • 24 hour care and support by a rostered team of dedicated staff

About you

To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description, including:

  1. Experience working with young people who have faced significant trauma
  2. A relevant qualification in a field related to Youth Work or Community Services.  A completed Certificate IV level qualification is the minimum requirement, or current studies close to completion for a relevant Diploma or Degree
  3. A current Driver’s Licence
  4. Current First Aid and CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain these before starting)

Selection Criteria Essential: Do you have a Driver's Licence valid in Victoria and are you willing to drive agency vehicles and transport clients when required
Desirable: Do you have current certificates in First Aid and CPR
Desirable: Have you completed Certificate IV - Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential and Out of Home Care)
Desirable: Have you completed top up training in Child Youth and Family Intervention (Residential and Out of Home Care)
Essential: Are you available and willing to work shift work including regular weekend shifts, mornings, afternoons, nights, sleep-overs and active nights
Essential: What is the minimum and maximum number of hours you would like to work per week?
Essential: Do you already have a Victorian Working with Children Check Card?
