About the opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a new Parenting Mentor to join the Starting Out Program.  The role will be based at the Croydon Office, and required to travel to various other locations. It is a part time, maximum term contract until December 19 (with potential to extend dependant on funding) – 5-10 hours per week.

 

About the Starting Out program

The program is based in Croydon with clients across the eastern suburbs. 
The program is designed to provide an innovative support service for:

  • Young people 25 years of age or younger who are pregnant or parenting
  • People experiencing difficulties that impact on parenting and family life

 

The Parenting Mentors will:

  • Support the Starting Out team of specialist Social Workers
  • Help to provide both group work and general support to young parents and their children
  • Role-model and mentor positive parenting and play with young parents
  • Bring their personal experiences of young parenting – from lived experience and/or relevant studies
